Due to tremendous growth within our organization we are looking to add qualified, independent members to our team.

The qualified Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Technician will support the Quality Department and the role requires certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection in accordance with CGSB Level 2. Only candidates with this specific certification will be considered. Certification in LPI and NAS410 is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • The NDT Technician will perform varied testing on forged, welded and machined parts to ensure compliance with technical drawings in accordance with approved procedures, specifications or standards in force and evaluate results.
  • Perform ultrasonic and eddy current testing, and analyze x-ray film, of a wide variety of complex structural members, safety of flight items, both critical and non critical, to detect internal defects.
  • Evaluate data and characterize all anomalies utilizing alternate non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and record all non-conformances,
  • Effectively operate all equipment for which certifications are held.
  • Check equipment for proper functioning and report malfunction to leadman, supervisor or Maintenance.
  • Keep own work area clean and orderly.
  • Execute visual and dimensional inspection of aerospace parts
  • Complete non-destructive testing and issue certificates of compliance and nonconforming material tags
  • Develop and implement procedures for non-destructive testing
  • Calibrate test equipment
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Set up equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed
  • Evaluate test results against designated standards, utilizing knowledge of metals and testing experience
  • Prepare reports outlining findings and conclusions

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
- CGSB Level 2 certification is Mandatory.
- High level knowledge and experience in Magnetic Particle Inspection. Liquid Penetrant Inspection and Natal etch inspection is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to select tools, read blueprint, specifications, manuals and work procedures.
- Able to read, understand and follow written instructions of non-destructive techniques.
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering
- Minimum of 2-3 years related work experience in a custom precision machining environment, within a manufacturing quality team. Coop experience is an asset.
- Capable of reading and interpreting customer blueprints
- Knowledge of micrometers, bore gages, optical comparators, surface analyzing equipment, calipers, height gages
- Problem solving skills
- Detail orientated
- Good computer skills - MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Six sigma or LEAN experience an asset
- Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning System “ERP” (Syteline familiarity an asset)
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
- Familiar with the Controlled Goods Program and regulations
