This position reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible to support, maintain, and advance Continuous Improvement (CI) utilizing the Triumph Operating System (TOS) and lean principles. The goal is to create a CI operating rhythm that will educate and empower all team members to recognize CI opportunities, participate in CI events, sustain a strong CI culture, and yield performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support business improvement and cultural development through CI planning and strategy deployment
  • Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies.
  • Provide organization development through training, teaching, coaching and mentoring of leaders, Triumph change Agents (TCAs) and employees
  • Identify areas of business performance gaps and participate in planning and improvement to close the gaps
  • Lead cross-functional teams through Lean and Six Sigma Process Improvement efforts to drive process, productivity and profitability gains and reduce cycle times/eliminate process variation
  • Analyze improvement programs and potential results.
  • Facilitate and coach improvement teams.
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success.
  • Install process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications and rewards. 
  • Facilitate CI meetings and events (VSM, Kaizen, Just-Do-Its, etc.)
  • Maintain and advance the CI Roadmap
  • Manage CI projects/events
  • Report out metrics and progress on CI, assist the TOS Maturity assessment gap closure efforts
  • Recognize and address CI opportunities
  • Train and mentor TOS/CI/Lean concepts and their practical application
  • Create and maintain leading indicators to ensure goals are being achieved
  • Work with other BU, OpCo and Site CI team members in coordinating all efforts
  • Support Policy Deployment planning activities to improve business performance

Qualifications

- 4-year degree required; MBA a plus, in one of the following disciplines: Technical, Quality or Operations
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in leading change and transformation efforts in operations and/or engineering. Aerospace Experience preferred
- Demonstrated organizational agility and ability to influence without authority
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and good facilitation skills
- Knowledge of strategy deployment and related reporting techniques
- Applied ability to integrate business and financial objectives into CI decision-making
- Demonstrated leadership ability and organization skills
- Experience balancing multiple priorities
- Lean certification; six sigma green/black belt certification preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective teams
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with ambiguity
- Proven success implementing CI activities in both Engineering and Operations environment
- Manufacturing/machining/assembly experience
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
- Strong training and leadership skills
- Strong meeting facilitation skills
- Travel as needed.
