This position reports to the Facilities/Maintenance Manager. The Industrial Control Systems Engineer has thorough understanding of electricity, electronics and software as applied to industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to assist technicians in troubleshooting and repair of robotic systems, automated machine tools, semi-automatic and CNC positioning industrial riveting machines. 
  • Candidate will be required to develop preventative maintenance (PM)/ calibration procedures to be periodically performed on industrial equipment.
  • Responsible for producing control system designs, detailed schematics, developing, modifying and interpreting PLC ladder logic, and interpreting CNC part programs.
  • Tasks will not be limited strictly to industrial controls applications.

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3-5 years of related experience.
 
Automation experience must include design/ debug, troubleshooting and repair of positioning/ motor controls, computer numerical controls (CNC), programmable logic controllers (PLCs)/ communication networks, variable frequency motor drives (VFDs), hydraulic, pneumatic and process controls.
 
Additional programming languages will be required (e.g. C, Visual C++, Visual C#, XML, Visual Basic, VBA, etc.).
 
Experience with design and implementation of vision systems, process control, CNC and HMI is required.
