Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.
The West Hartford location has an opening for a Senior Electronics Component Engineer. This successful candidate will manage the selection, evaluation, approval and documentation of electronic components in Triumph electronic products. This position provides support to circuit designers in the selection and application of high-reliability electronic parts for defense and commercial applications. 


  • Review specifications for electronic components selected by design engineer.
  • Actively engage process engineers and design engineers for component related improvement or resolution of non-compliance or defects.
  • Perform Obsolescence review and recommend alternative part.
  • Periodically assess parts against GIDEP / PCN alerts, technical advisories, quality standards and counterfeit reports.
  • Generate Component drawing, including special requirement as: Plating alloy mitigations, such as for pure tin or pure gold plated leads
  • Upscreening of lower grade components for use in more rigorous environments.
  • Moisture or temperature sensitivities, requiring non-standard processes during assembly


- BS Engineering required.
- 8-10 years of experience in component engineering, with specialty in military, space, commercial and automotive component standards.
- Knowledge EEE components usage and parts screening requirements, components circuit applications, and the specifications and technical parameters of active and passive parts.
- Knowledge of destructive parts analysis (DPA) and parts failure analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and demonstrate effective communication skills.
- PDM knowledge is a plus
- Windows proficient
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook)
