Overview

Responsible for the interpretation of federal and state laws, regulations and orders as they apply to environmental, safety and health and maintain the site safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all appropriate statutes and regulation, and the regulatory reporting requirements are met. Responsible for implementing and managing programs to identify workplace hazards and prevent. Provide employees safety training and ensure proper PPE. Ensure workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions. Oversee accident investigations and serve as primary interface in inspections from OSHA, EPA, and other Federal, State and Local Government Agencies

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining environmental/safety & health programs for the Milledgeville facility to maintain compliance with federal, state & local regulatory requirements. Applicant must have knowledge and experience in implementing: occupational safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, and injury/incident prevention programs. Interfacing with regulatory agencies, briefing site management, providing requisite safety training to employees and leading ES&H work groups are key elements of the position. Proficiency in MicroSoft Office Suite is required.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have at least 6 to 10 years experience. Minimum education requirements: BA/BS in Environmental & Occupational Health, safety engineering, public health, industrial hygiene or related field.
