    The Quality Engineering Technologist is responsible for assisting in review and preparation of Quality Assurance documents and records pertaining to Nuclear and Aerospace programs as well as monitoring conformance of internal and subcontracted products and processes to industry standards and codes.  Initially, we are looking to add to our Quality Engineering Nuclear Project Team.  The role will be focused on the Nuclear Project specifically around conformance and closure of outstanding quality assurance items.  Experience in the manufacturing process, including controlling products, documentation, traceability, and managing the NCR process is a requirement.  Experience in the aerospace or automotive manufacturing sector is an asset.



    • Ensure that all manufacturing designs, processes and technical data are complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical/ historical base for future reference and to meet customer/ end user requirements
    • Working with Quality Manager and Quality Engineers on ensuring that product and supporting documentation conform to customer’s requirements
    • Responsible for assuring Quality documentation is properly maintained. Required to collect and generate records of product/process conformance; maintain and assemble evidence record binders
    • Maintain document control matrix
    • Review incoming product and processing certification
    • Monitoring of internal quality records for compliance with internal and customer’s requirements
    • Assist in product and process inspections and audits with the objective of improving process performance and capability
    • Participate and drive the FAIs for closure of non-conformances through the MRB process.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing non-conformances
    • Work with cross functional team to create and submit reports to management on various quality related performance metrics such as: Rework, Scrap, Escapes, Snags, RNC's.
    • Assist in review of industry standards and codes
    • Train personnel in the content of procedures and work instructions. Provide technical direction were necessary.
    • Adhere to the Quality Manual System procedures without deviation.
    • Perform other duties as required
    • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures


    - Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering
    - Minimum of 5 years related work experience in a custom machining environment, within a manufacturing quality team. Coop experience is an asset.
    - Strong background and hands on experience in Quality Inspection as well as an Engineering Background.
    - A working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and/or CSA Z299 is required.
    - Demonstrated understanding of Quality Manual System and Procedures.
    - Capable of reading and interpreting customer blueprints
    - Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge
    - Knowledge of micrometers, bore gages, optical comparators, surface analyzing equipment, calipers, height gages
    - Knowledge of various engineering processes, supply chain management and project management
    - Demonstrated experience with identifying quality issues and completion of non-conformance reports (NCRs)
    - Proven problem solving skills and detail orientated
    - Excellent computer skills - MS Office – Word, Excel
    - Six sigma, LEAN, and/or Kaizen experience an asset
    - Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning System “ERP” (Syteline familiarity an asset)
    - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    - Able to work under pressure
    - A confident self-starter with sound decision making skills
    - Must be thorough and accurate and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment
    - Effective in data analysis, reporting, problem solving, judgment and decision making
    - Strong communication and presentation skills
    - Champion for change, best practices and continuous improvement methods
