    To plan, layout, fabricate, construct and repair a variety of tooling as required to support all facets of aircraft manufacturing. Such tooling will include jigs, weld and assembly fixtures, drill and mill fixtures, dies, models, bond tools, as well as templates and trim and form tools. Quality Control procedures as well as company, military, and customer specifications. Perform work meeting or exceeding specified tolerances using a variety of precision measuring and calibration instruments and machine tools. Use a variety of shop equipment such as hand tools, conventional and numerically controlled machinery/equipment, precision and optical instruments, overhead cranes, hoist, welding, painting and inner-plant vehicles.  Approve and validate acceptable tools and reject tools that does not meet acceptable criteria. 

    • Perform a variety of tooling duties under the direction of supervision and higher classified Toolmakers. 
    • Work from blueprints, tool drawings, tool orders, quality procedures and instructions, company, military and customer specifications and verbal instructions
    • Independently or under the direction of supervision or higher classified Toolmakers perform a variety of functions and operations to fabricate and construct less complicated tooling
    • Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices and directives
    • Perform Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated Production Accountability
    • Prepare and maintain necessary paperwork and records
    • Keep work areas clean and orderly


    Job Knowledge:
    - Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures.
    - Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred.
    - Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required.
    - High school diploma or an accredited GED.
    - Limited related experience
     General Physical Requirements:
    - Lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, crawling, grasping, holding and working from awkward positions.
