    Quality Engineer - Aerospace Position Description:

    This position is responsible for identifying manufacturing problems and issues. In partnership with management, customers, suppliers, vendors, manufacturing and technical staff, performs root cause analysis. Recommends and implements corrective and preventive processes and procedures in order to prevent recurrence of identified problems and issues.



    • Working with Quality Assurance Manager to improve Quality System Maintenance
    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action programs and processes
    • Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system
    • Responsible for continual improvement activities and lean methods, to improve quality processes and procedures
    • Working with the Senior Management Team including the Human Resources department to develop training programs and build quality awareness
    • Interfacing with Engineering and Operations to ensure production of new products are in accordance with approved data
    • Support Quality Control Inspectors to ensure products and processes comply with the relevant quality management system requirements
    • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
    • May be assigned as Lead Auditor on projects, customer and internal audits
    • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to manufacturing and customer complaints
    • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality standard procedure documents and QA related reports
    • Perform other duties as required
    • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures


    - Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering
    - Must be eligible and approved to work in Canada
    - Minimum of 3 years related work experience in a custom metal machining environment, within a manufacturing quality team. Coop experience is an asset.
    - Strong background and hands on experience in Quality Inspection as well as an Engineering Background.
    - A working knowledge of AS9100, and/or ISO 9001 is required.
    - Demonstrated understanding of Quality Manual System and Procedures.
    - Capable of reading and interpreting customer blueprints
    - Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge
    - Knowledge of micrometers, bore gages, optical comparators, surface analyzing equipment, calipers, height gages
    - Knowledge of various engineering processes, supply chain management and project management
    - Demonstrated experience with identifying quality issues and completion of non-conformance reports (NCRs)
    - Proven problem solving skills and detail orientated
    - Excellent computer skills - MS Office –Word, Excel
    - Six sigma, LEAN, and/or Kaizen experience an asset
    - Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning System “ERP” (Syteline familiarity an asset)
    - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    - Able to work under pressure
    - A confident self-starter with sound decision making skills
    - Must be thorough and accurate and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment
    - Effective in data analysis, reporting, problem solving, judgment and decision making
    - Strong communication and presentation skills
    - Champion for change, best practices and continuous improvement methods
